Best church service ever....

Today we became members at Christ the King Lutheran church in Fallbrook, CA. It was a wonderful service with another passionate and exciting sermon by Pastor Phil and beautiful music. We sat with our sponsors, Frank and Bobbi Capin, who were likely assigned to us b/c of Frank's Marine Corps career and the likelihood he could find something in common with Eric. :) At this church, sponsors are basically really friendly people assigned to help new members find their niche in church activities and as we are finding out - are fabulously nice and welcoming folks who act like they have known you a long time. While I love it, but thought it might bother Eric, everyone at this church hugs. After 6 months of attending he is so far unphased by all the hugs - and I have seen him initiate a few on his own! People have gone out of their way to get to know us and reach out and we even have a few dinner invitations over the next few weeks. I cannot begin to explain how much love we feel at this church and how excited we are to go church every Sunday. What a good feeling!
Brynnlee enjoys most things about being at church - except for being confined to the pew. :) She says more crazy stuff in the 90 min we are in the service than I often hear in several days. Today, for example, the woman in front of us dropped her bulletin and Brynnlee shouted "uhoh". When we finished the first prayer she said "amen" and then looked at me for approval. When we were being inducted as members we knelt at the alter with the other new members and the Pastors placed their hands on us and prayed for each of seperately. Brynnlee really enjoyed this and when they walked away she beckoned them to "um back!" : ) These things not only warm our hearts (and sometimes embarrass me depending on how loud she is!) but seem to entertain our surrounding worshipers. : ) Eric was holding Brynnlee as the pastor gave the benediction today and she patted him on the back saying "back, BACK PACK, back, BACK PACK". I would have been more concerned at her volume had the man in the pew behind us not been hyperventalating he was laughing so hard and loud. How can we be embarrassed by a one year old when a grown man is being much louder??? : ) Needless to say, she keeps us laughing.
I wish I had some pictures to show of the beautiful service or some of our new friends, but I didn't think it was the most appropriate time and place to be snapping away like I often do. Instead I will add some "after church" pictures of our monkey as Daddy washed the car and we played in the yard. Keep in mind (Skyler and Tayler, I know it concerns you how often your cousin Brynnlee is naked!) that she STARTED with clothes on but her Daddy rinsed her off with the hose after she attempted to wash her own hair in the sudsy car-wash bucket. : ) And people wonder why I refer to her as "crazy town" all the time. Whatever town she is from.... it must've been CRAZY. Silly little thing.
Love to you all and I hope to get some back-logged photos up soon. Just really wanted to share about our big day!
xoxo, Jennie
ps
place take a rain check on the pics as I am having trouble with them tonight. Hope to get them up during a nap this week! (B's, not mine.... not too good at uploading while asleep!) xoxo : )
